十六岁时我写过一篇名为《夏天，烟火，我的尸体》的小说。那篇小说是一边回想着荒木飞吕彦老师的漫画分镜一边写下的。故事描写的是主人公们想藏好失手杀死的好友的尸体，想办法逃离的故事。写到尸体被人发现的场景时，我的脑海里流动着咚咚咚咚咚的拟声词。那本小说参加了集英社主办的JUMP小说大奖赛，成为了我初登文坛的作品。

JUMP小说大奖赛。当时的名字叫做JUMP小说·纪实小说大奖赛。这一比赛是由集英社JB0X编辑部主办的，我当时经常阅读他们出版的书。《圣战》、《MIDNIGHT★MAGIC》、《睡美人魔法使》等初期作品当时都摆放在书店里。我想了解《爆炎CAMPUS大行进》的新情报，所以买了本《V JUMP》杂志。另外，JBOX编辑部也出版由人气漫画改编的小说，比如说《BASTARD！！》这本小说我就读得如痴如醉，当然《JOJO的奇妙冒险·第三部》我也读了。参加JUMP小说大奖赛的时候，我就暗暗地想。

“要是获奖的话，说不定我也能为漫画写小说！”

登上文坛五年后终于有了这个机会。有一天，我访问集英社编辑部时得知了《JOJO的奇妙冒险·第五部》的小说版即将出版。我觉得很奇怪，第三部小说已经出版了，本以为这次应该将第四部改编成小说，为什么会跳过第四部直接出第五部了呢？我探问了一下。

“《JOJO》第四部不改编成小说了吗？如果没有人写的话，能让我来写吗？”

之后五年，我一直在写《JOJO的奇妙冒险·第四部》。已经出版的第三部和第五部小说都是借漫画的世界观设定创作的原创故事，我也借鉴了这一方式。但我总写不好，写了很多废稿。写了四百张原稿后感觉不对劲，于是就将之前所写的都当作废稿扔掉，这样反反复复的弄了好几次。这五年来我撕掉的原稿多达两千张以上，完全断了收入来源。谁让我尽写些废稿，没法写出新书来呢，这也是无可奈何的事。之后无奈之下，我只能在空闲的时间做点其它工作赚点生活费，同时撰写《JOJO》的小说。

重新动笔时，小说的内容也是颠三倒四的。几年前出版的期刊型书籍《读JUMP》上登载了我所写的小说的一部分，那个就是未被采用的版本中的开头部分。之后非常荣幸地请到荒木老师帮忙画了插画，但因为我更改了内容，那些插画都不能用在这次的小说中了，真的很对不起。

五年间，我一直都将全部心思放在这部小说中。在反复的擦擦写写中，我搬了三次家，甚至都结婚了。这期间《死亡笔记》的小说和《葛饰区龟有公园前派出所》的小说都已经出版了。当时我有点焦急，不过焦急的同时也很开心。我心里感觉很充实，当时我从JBOOK登入文坛也是为了做这份工作。其实第四部留下来没有改编成小说对我来说真的很幸运。十几岁时我就隐隐约约在想，要是可以给《JOJO》写小说的话，希望能写第四部就好了。现在可以说是梦想实现了。

这次终于可以出版《JOJO的奇妙冒险·第四部》了。真是太好了。我妥善地处理了文字，让没读过漫画的人也能体会到乐趣，当然也有顾及不到的地方。如果这样读者还能感觉这本小说很有趣的话，请一定去读读《JOJO的奇妙冒险》。顺便提一句，第四部是单行本的29～47卷（文库本则是18～29卷）。
